Job summary

Paul Schneider Ceramics designs and handcrafts custom ceramic lighting in Dallas. As our Slipcasting Assistant, you'll learn the full slipcasting role from first pour to bisque-ready piece under a Master Ceramist.

Responsibilities include mixing and casting slip, finishing with proper sanding, maintaining molds, and tracking daily output. Part-time hours with payment bi-weekly; no experience required beyond training willingness.

Qualifications

• Detail-oriented and organized with consistent, careful work.
• Comfortable working independently and asking for help when needed.
• Basic computer skills; Google Workspace proficiency.
• Ceramics or slipcasting experience is a plus, training provided.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cast slip, mixing and testing to spec; pour and demold with consistent wall thickness.
• Finish by sanding bone-dry pieces to bisque-ready surface; monitor drying room and inventory.
• Support the studio by caring for plaster molds and tracking daily output.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety; everyone contributes to a clean studio.
