Alameda Health System is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to deliver patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse in the ED. The EMT collects data, assists with exams, and supports clinicians while ensuring patient safety and dignity.
The role includes charting, order entry assistance, and patient transport, with responsibilities for preparing patients for procedures and aiding in CPR when needed. High school diploma and BLS/EMT certifications required.
The SLH Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is responsible and accountable for the delivery of patient care under the direction of the Registered Nurse, according to the philosophy and goals/objectives of the Department of Nursing. The EMT collects data and implements task specific functions as directed by the Registered Nurse. The EMT delivers care that is specific to the special behaviors / needs of the patient and is age appropriate for the individual, as well as, providing for the patient's significant other's. The EMT will not sub delegate tasks that have been delegated by the Registered Nurse. Distribution of staff and patients may require reassignment to other nursing areas. Performs related duties as required.

Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Experience: One year clinical experience pre-hospital care and/or acute care preferred. Six months experience within Alameda Health System considered.
Required Licenses/Certifications: BLS - Basic Life Support Certification - issued by AHA-American Heart Association.
Required Licenses/Certifications: Must have one of the following certifications: EMT or EMT-P. CNA License considered.
