Summary

Rex Neurology Sleep Laboratory is hiring a Sleep Tech II to join their team! The Sleep Tech II performs standard and complex electroneurodiagnostic tests in polysomnographic testing on patients in the Sleep Disorders Lab. The primary work may be performed in a lab, clinic, patient bedside, or operating room. This position may also provide float support to other Sleep Disorders Labs if necessary. Eligible for night shift differentials!

Responsibilities

1. Provide instruction and guidance to other technologists in the Neurodiagnostic and/or Sleep Disorders Lab.
2. Perform diagnostic patient testing including EEG, EMG, NCV, evoked potentials, and polysomnographic testing, with possible oxygen therapy and CPAP treatments.
3. Set up and calibrate room and equipment in hospital rooms, operating rooms, or clinics.
4. Read and score neurodiagnostic and polysomnographic tests.
5. Take patient histories and instruct patients and families on test preparation, pre-test interviews, and follow-up appointments.

Education Requirements: Graduation from an acceptable program of Neurophysiology

Licensure/Certification Requirements: Registered in one of the following specialty areas: EEG (R. EEG T., CLTM), EP (R. EP T.), Intra-Operative Monitoring (CNIM), Nerve Conduction Velocity studies (NCV), Polysomnography (RPSGT), Registered Sleep Technologist (RST)

Professional Experience Requirements: No prior experience required if completed an acceptable Neurophysiology program. Otherwise, a High School Diploma and two (2) years of experience performing Sleep or Neurodiagnostics procedures are required.
