Job summary
Sanford Health is seeking a Sleep Medicine Nurse Practitioner to provide advanced nursing care for patients with sleep disorders, collaborating with physicians to assess, diagnose, and treat conditions such as sleep apnea, insomnia, and narcolepsy. You will interpret sleep studies, develop treatment plans, and educate patients to improve sleep quality.
The role requires an NP with strong sleep medicine experience or interest, state licensure, and certification in relevant NP specialties.
Qualifications
- Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Current RN and NP licensure in each state of practice.
- National board certification as a Family, Adult-Gerontology, or Acute Care NP.
Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed patient histories and physical exams focused on sleep health.
- Order and interpret sleep studies and diagnostic tests.
- Diagnose and manage sleep disorders using evidence-based protocols.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans including CPAP therapy and medications.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatments accordingly.
- Educate patients and families on sleep hygiene and treatment adherence.
- Collaborate with pulmonologists, neurologists, psychologists, and other specialists.
