Job summary

Sanford Health in Fargo, ND seeks a Sleep Medicine Nurse Practitioner to deliver advanced nursing care for sleep disorders. You will work with physicians to assess, order and interpret tests, and educate patients to improve sleep quality and overall health.

You will order sleep studies, develop treatment plans including CPAP therapy, medications, and behavioral interventions, and coordinate with pulmonology and other specialists. Licensure in required states and board certification are expected.

Qualifications

Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited APRN program.
If APRN licensed prior to August 1, 1995, master's degree preferred.
Experience in sleep medicine preferred.
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in each state of practice.
Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permit to prescribe controlled substances.
State Controlled Substance License (if required by State).
National board certification as a Family (FNP-BC) or (FNP-C), Adult-Gerontology Primary Care (AGPCNP-BC) or (A-GNP), Adult-Gerontology Acute Care (AGACNP-BC) or ACNPC-AG), Acute Care Adult (ACNP-BC), Adult (ANP-C)
Privileging documents and related credentialing requirements will supersede this job description in defining minimum qualifications.

Responsibilities

Provide advanced nursing care for patients with sleep disorders.
Collaborate with physicians to perform comprehensive assessments, interprets diagnostic tests, develops treatment plans, and educates patients.
Order and interpret sleep studies, polysomnography, actigraphy, and other diagnostic tests.
Diagnose and manage sleep disorders using evidence-based protocols.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans including CPAP therapy, medications, behavioral interventions, and lifestyle modifications.
Monitor patient progress and adjust treatments accordingly.
Educate patients and families on sleep hygiene, treatment adherence, and comorbidity management.
Collaborate with pulmonologists, neurologists, psychologists, and other specialists.
Document all clinical encounters and treatment plans accurately in the electronic health record.
Participate in sleep center operations, quality improvement, and patient education programs.
