Job summary

Sanford Health in Fargo, ND is seeking a Sleep Medicine Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide advanced nursing care for patients with sleep disorders. You will work with physicians to assess, diagnose, and manage sleep health, including CPAP therapy and lifestyle modifications.

The role requires NP/PA licensure, sleep medicine experience preferred, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to improve patient sleep quality and overall health.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in each state of practice.
• Current DEA permit to prescribe controlled substances in each state of practice.
• Board certification as FNP-BC or FNP–C, AGPCNP-BC or AGACNP-BC or ACNPC-AG, ACNP-BC, ANP-C.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed patient histories and physical exams focused on sleep health.
• Order and interpret sleep studies, polysomnography, actigraphy, and other diagnostic tests.
• Diagnose and manage sleep disorders using evidence-based protocols.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans including CPAP therapy, medications, behavioral interventions, and lifestyle modifications.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatments accordingly.
• Educate patients and families on sleep hygiene, treatment adherence, and comorbidity management.
• Collaborate with pulmonologists, neurologists, psychologists, and other specialists.
• Document all clinical encounters and treatment plans accurately in the electronic health record.
• Participate in sleep center operations, quality improvement, and patient education programs.
