Job summary

Hillcrest HealthCare System in Tulsa, OK is seeking a day shift, full-time Sleep Medicine Medical Assistant to join our clinic team. You will perform administrative and delegated clinical tasks to support physicians and providers, including patient check-in, vital signs, and EMR documentation.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, proficiency with EMR and Microsoft Office, and BLS certification within 14 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Basic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Microsoft Office knowledge.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Enters, maintains, and reports all medical history, medical coding, and files claims using an EMR.
• Patient visit support that may include greeting patients, escorting to exam room and taking vitals.
• Sterilizes and prepares medical instruments; ensures exam rooms are disinfected and ready for patients.
• Assists in maintaining inventory and stocking supplies, instruments and equipment for all exam rooms.
• Maintains appropriate paperwork for inventory control and reviews orders received for completeness.
• Addresses referrals and insurance authorizations and passes along patient information for prescriptions, x-rays or labs.
