Arnot Health is seeking a Polysomnography Technologist to perform comprehensive sleep testing and education under supervision, with potential independent function after competency. The role emphasizes quality data collection, patient safety, and patient instruction.

You will work with the sleep lab team on various procedures, scoring, and reporting, while maintaining compliance and ongoing education as part of a dynamic healthcare environment in the Southern Tier region.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an approved associate or higher degree program in Polysomnographic technology.
• NYS Respiratory Therapist or Technician License required.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire; ACLS preferred.

Responsabilités

• Collects, analyzes and integrates patient information to identify needs and determine testing parameters with ordering physician or clinical director.
• Completes and verifies documentation for the study.
• Explains pre-testing, testing and post-testing procedures to patients.
• Prepares and calibrates equipment and adjustments for proper functioning.
• Applies electrodes and sensors per published standards and ensures signal quality.
• Performs PAP mask fitting and physiologic calibrations as needed.
• Follows testing protocols (MSLT, MWT, PAP, oxygen titration) to collect data.
• Scores sleep/wake stages and clinical events according to center protocols.
• Maintains safety and infection control; performs equipment care and inventory checks.
• Demonstrates age-specific care for neonatal to geriatric patients.
• Participates in sleep lab QA data collection and analysis.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
