Job summary

MercyOne Health System is seeking a dedicated Sleep Technologist to perform comprehensive polysomnographic recordings and sleep studies, including MSLT/MWT, with patient education and safety at the forefront. You will calibrate equipment, apply sensors, and generate accurate reports under medical direction.

The role requires credentialing in sleep technology, registry eligibility, and BLS certification, with opportunities for career growth within the Neurodiagnostic Services team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; higher degree accepted.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Credentialed as CRT, RRT, REEGT, or BRPT.
• Registered in sleep technology or eligible to sit for the registry through ABSM, NBR, BRPT, or AASM.
• Must become Registered within two years of hire.
• Non-registered technicians must enroll in A-STEP or CAAHEP sleep technology and complete within 2 years; 10 hours/year CEC sleep education.
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) is required.

Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze patient information to identify needs and determine testing parameters.
• Prepare and calibrate equipment for testing and ensure proper functioning.
• Apply electrodes and sensors per published standards.
• Follow polysomnographic protocols (MSLT/MWT/parasomnias/PAP/oxygen titration).
• Record and document sleep stages and clinical events for scoring.
• Perform physiologic calibrations and PAP mask fitting as needed.
• Provide patient education and ensure safety throughout the procedure.

Education

Associate's or Bachelor’s degree preferred

Credentialed as CRT, RRT, REEGT, or BRPT

Registered in sleep technology or eligible to sit for registry exam (ABSM, NBR, BRPT, AASM)

Must become Registered within two years of hire

Enroll in A-STEP Online Self Study or CAAHEP sleep technology program

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
