Job summary

Regions Hospital in Minnesota seeks a Polysomnographic Technologist for our Sleep Center. Under medical supervision, you will perform and evaluate overnight polysomnograms, operate complex equipment, and monitor sleep/wake physiology to ensure patient safety.

You will record, score, and report on sleep stages and events; maintain equipment; and participate in procedures such as MSLT, pediatric polysomnography, and ambulatory monitoring.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients.
• OTJ training in Polysomnography and passing the RPSGT exam is required.
• Knowledge of sleep physiology and the monitoring of polysomnography equipment.

Responsibilities

• Performs and evaluates overnight polysomnograms under medical supervision.
• Operates recording devices and monitors sleep/wake physiology.
• Reviews and scores polysomnograms, generating concise reports of sleep/wake stages and events.
• Maintains equipment and assists with procedures such as MSLT, pediatric polysomnography, and ambulatory monitoring.
