Job description

Location: New York City


The State, Local and Education focused Account Executive will meet and exceed quarterly sales quotas by developing new opportunities within a broad geographical territory. Responsibilities include researching and identifying potential top accounts, providing technical information and explanations, delivering Zoom presentations, preparing accurate quotes, providing forecast updates on a monthly/quarterly basis, attending regional events, building partner relationships in the region, building rapport with prospects and customers, and managing renewals.


Key Responsibilities - Account Executive - SLED


The Account Executive will build a sales pipeline and sell the Axonius Security Asset Management platform to State, Local, and Education accounts across various industry verticals in the US. The role requires engaging with stakeholders from IT, Security Operations, Threat & Vulnerability Management, Security Engineering, and C-suite executives. The candidate should be familiar with IT and security terminology and technologies, and be willing to prospect via phone, email, LinkedIn, and other sources to generate opportunities, aiming for a pipeline exceeding 4x the annual quota. Managing the entire deal cycle to closure, including working with technical teams for demos and POCs, is essential.


The Account Executive will:


  • Identify and pursue targeted prospecting activities in key industry verticals
  • Build and manage a diverse sales pipeline with direct customers
  • Drive deals through presentations, demos, and POCs, ensuring consistent progression to closure
  • Sell to State, Local, and Education clients
  • Identify stakeholders, understand their budgets, procurement timelines, and requirements
  • Develop and manage quotes, proposals, contracts, and negotiations
  • Meet sales quota objectives and provide regular sales updates to management
  • Articulate how Axonius solutions address stakeholders' business needs
  • Develop relationships with strategic VARs that complement Axonius offerings
  • Analyze target prospects and prioritize approaches based on market segments
  • Gather competitive intelligence and industry trend insights for sharing with internal teams

  • Several years of sales or business development experience, specifically in the SLED space
  • Proven ability to build pipelines and close deals
  • Industry connections in SLED preferred
  • Understanding of technical security solutions and OT environments desirable
  • Experience with Salesforce, Gmail, MS Office, and Web Conferencing tools
  • Attention to detail and strong follow-up skills
  • Relationship-building skills with channel partners and a hunter mentality
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity business acquisition
  • Ability to work independently and creatively
