Job summary

Velcro USA Inc. in Somersworth, NH is seeking a candidate for the second shift to produce quality beams in a fast-paced weave operation. You will follow Standard Work Instructions, operate beam-related equipment, and complete paperwork while maintaining safety, quality, and timely delivery.

The role requires a high school diploma, basic certifications, and at least six months of machinery experience. Teamwork, reliability, and willingness to work overtime are essential to succeed in this

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must be able to obtain LOTO certification and forklift certification.
  • Able to read a scale and refractometer.
  • Read and interpret written instructions and mix chemicals per formulas.
  • Minimum of six months' experience operating complex machinery.
  • Willingness to learn via books, web-based and classroom training.

Responsibilities

  • Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations.
  • Operate hoist and load beam creels with correct end count order.
  • Lay in reeds and combs per lay-in style card.
  • Correctly mix sizing following formulas.
  • Repair lost or broken ends during the slashing process.
  • Make minor adjustments to assure quality beams.
  • Maintain clean work area and follow SOPs.
  • Complete paperwork and print beam tickets.
  • Assist yarn prep areas as needed.
  • Work well in a team and maintain excellent attendance.
  • Full-time presence required; overtime as needed.

Work Shift Time:

3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, Monday through Friday

Job Objective:

Produce quality beams for weave operation, following Standard Work Instructions.Maintain safety, quality and delivery standards.Complete necessary paperwork and other duties as assigned.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Follow Prescribed safety rules and regulations.
  • Safely operate hoist and load section beam creels with correct end count order.
  • Lay in all reeds and combs following correct lay-in style card.
  • Correctly mix sizing following formulas when needed.
  • Ability to correctly repair lost or broken ends that occur during Slashing process.
  • Make minor adjustments assuring quality beams are produced.
  • Maintain quality standards and clean work area.
  • Follow all Standard operating procedures.
  • Accurately complete all necessary paperwork, file charts accordingly and print beam tickets.
  • Assist all yarn prep areas as needed.
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment
  • Excellent attendance required
  • Full time presence required
  • Ability to work overtime as required or requested including extended shifts and weekends.
  • Additional tasks as assigned
Job Qualifications:
  • High school diploma/GED required
  • Ability to be certified in lockout tag out operations, powered industrial trucks as listed below
  • Ability to read a scale and refractometer.
  • Ability to read and interpret written instruction and mix chemicals according to formulas.
  • Minimum of six months of experience operating complex machinery.
  • Ability to learn including book, web-based and classroom participation.
