Slalom Flex (Project Based) – Product Delivery Manager

Location

Who You’ll Work With

Our Delivery teams help organizations redefine what's possible by bringing together business strategy, product thinking, and technology execution. We partner closely with clients to solve complex challenges, deliver meaningful outcomes, and accelerate value realization through modern product delivery practices.

Who You Are

You are an experienced Product Owner and delivery-focused consultant who thrives in fast-paced agile environments. You excel at translating product vision and business objectives into actionable backlog items, guiding teams through ambiguity, and ensuring work delivered aligns with customer and stakeholder needs.

You are equally comfortable facilitating conversations with executives, collaborating with product management on roadmap priorities, and working directly with development teams to clarify requirements, answer questions, and remove ambiguity. You bring strong agile delivery experience, exceptional communication skills, and a consultative mindset that enables you to quickly integrate into client environments and drive results.

This role is a tactical product ownership position supporting a strategic product initiative for the client, with a primary focus on backlog management, user story development, delivery support, prioritization, and issue resolution.

What You’ll Do
  • Own and manage the product backlog for one or more agile teams.
  • Partner with Product Management and business stakeholders to understand product vision, roadmap priorities, customer needs, and market challenges.
  • Translate product strategy into clearly defined capabilities, epics, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Write, refine, and maintain high-quality backlog items that are actionable, well-defined, and ready for development.
  • Prioritize backlog items based on business value, customer impact, dependencies, risk, technical readiness, and delivery objectives.
  • Represent stakeholder and customer needs to delivery teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Participate actively in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and team syncs.
  • Collaborate with the team to establish sprint goals and delivery objectives.
  • Answer questions from development teams quickly and effectively during backlog refinement, sprint planning, and sprint execution.
  • Clarify requirements, scope, business intent, and expected outcomes to reduce ambiguity and improve delivery flow.
  • Partner closely with the Scrum Master to support team effectiveness and address product-related blockers and impediments.
  • Monitor progress toward feature completion and adjust backlog sequencing and priorities as needed.
  • Make day‑to‑day product tradeoff decisions within established product strategy and delivery goals.
  • Evaluate completed work against acceptance criteria and accept or reject deliverables accordingly.
  • Ensure delivered functionality aligns with user needs, stakeholder expectations, and business objectives.
  • Proactively identify, communicate, and help resolve product-related risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Support cross‑functional collaboration between business stakeholders, product leadership, engineering teams, and delivery partners.
  • Create and maintain product artifacts, documentation, backlog management assets, and status communications.
  • Leverage AI‑enabled tools to support backlog creation, requirements documentation, prioritization activities, and delivery planning.
What You’ll Bring
  • 5+ years of experience in Product Ownership, Product Management, Business Analysis, Agile Delivery, or related consulting roles.
  • Proven experience owning and managing agile product backlogs.
  • Strong expertise writing user stories, acceptance criteria, epics, capabilities, and feature definitions.
  • Experience prioritizing work based on business value, customer needs, risk, dependencies, and delivery readiness.
  • Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, and product delivery best practices.
  • Experience working closely with Product Managers to align tactical delivery activities with strategic product roadmaps.
  • Ability to make informed tradeoff decisions while balancing scope, value, quality, and timeline considerations.
  • Strong facilitation, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with Scrum Masters, engineers, architects, and business stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting software, digital, data, analytics, or platform‑based product initiatives.
  • Ability to quickly establish credibility and influence within client organizations.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and a proactive, action‑oriented consulting mindset.
  • Experience with Agile delivery tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Rally, or similar platforms.
