Job summary

Harsco Environmental is seeking a Plant Operator to oversee the safe, efficient processing of steelmaking slag into aggregates and recovered metals. You will integrate production planning, process control, quality assurance, and team coordination to maximize recovery and deliver high-quality aggregate products.

The role requires monitoring operations, adjusting parameters, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations while guiding a team of operators and maintenance

Qualifications

• Knowledge of metal recovery and slag processing.
• Experience with process control systems and data analytics.
• Experience in manufacturing and safety compliance.
• Ability to read process data and make quick decisions.
• Physical stamina for plant operations.

Responsibilities

• Plan and control slag handling, transport, and processing into aggregates.
• Monitor and adjust process parameters to optimize recovery and quality.
• Troubleshoot equipment and adjust to maintain safety and efficiency.
• Coordinate with operators, supervisors, and maintenance staff.
• Enforce quality control programs to meet specs and env standards.
• Record process conditions, logs, and compliance data.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Determine equipment use and maximize throughput.
• Provide guidance to ensure safe plant operations.
• Prepare production reports and performance metrics.
• Use data analytics to identify trends and drive improvements.
