The Westin Tempe is looking for PT Bartender to join our amazing Team at our Skysill Pool and Lounge!

Hours/Shifts - AM/PM - availability - Monday - Friday - including holidays

Skysill Bartender takes part in servicing our food and beverages to our guests around our beautiful rooftop pool and cabanas. This task is to be handled in a friendly, courteous, timely, and professional manner resulting in an extremely high level of guest satisfaction. Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for serving beverages and food to the guests while answering any menu related questions.
  2. Prepares drinks for servers, ensures a high level of hospitality, and handles cashier duties for the lounge.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  1. Must have the ability to communicate in English.
  2. Self-starting personality with an even disposition.
  3. Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
  4. Can communicate well with guests.
  5. Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player.
  6. Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages.
  7. Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charges, and understand portion sizes.
  8. Sufficient manual dexterity in hands in order to use a knife to make garnish, pick up glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and reach overhead to retrieve stock.
  9. Sufficient strength to lift, load, and transport product weighing up to 50 lb. from storage facility to bar.
  10. Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items.
  11. Ability to operate a keyboard and point of sale procedures to pre-check an order and close out a check.
  12. Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods of time.
  13. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, customers and patrons.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

Customer Satisfaction:

Our guests are what we are about. One of the keys to a positive guest experience is positive interaction with Crescent staff. It is essential that you remain professional at all times, and that you treat all guests and associates with courtesy and respect, under all circumstances. Every Crescent associate is a guest relations ambassador, every working minute of every day.

Work Habits:

In order to maintain a positive guest and associate experience, your work habits should always meet and strive to exceed hotel standards for work procedures, dress, grooming, punctuality and attendance. You should be adaptable to change in your work area and in hotel procedures with a willingness to learn new skills and/or improve existing ones, have the ability to solve routine problems that occur on the job and ask for help whenever you are not sure how to do something.

Safety & Security:

The safety and security of our guests and associates is of utmost importance to Crescent. Every Crescent associate should adhere to the hotel security policies and procedures, particularly regarding key controls, lifting heavy objects, using chemicals, and effectively reporting safety hazards and safety concerns.
