Job summary

A growing education organization in Virginia seeks a dependable individual to drive a school bus and transport children. The ideal candidate should have a high school diploma, be at least 23 years old, and possess a valid driver’s license with a clean record. Responsibilities include driving on scheduled routes and communicating effectively with children and parents. We offer nights and weekends off, PTO, medical and dental insurance, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Ability to drive school bus to transport children to and from school.
• Must be first aid and child/adult CPR certified.
• At least 23 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Drive bus on all scheduled routes to and from school as well as approved activities.
• Communicate with teachers, parents, and children to meet the needs of each transported child.
• Work a split shift.

What you have:

• Ability to relate positively with young children
• Ability to drive school bus to transport children to and from school
• High school diploma or equivalent; prefer some college course work related to early childhood education
• Clean driving record for the last five years
• Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred
• Demonstrate knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices
• Ability to commit to a split shift schedule
• Must be first aid and child/adult CPR certified
• Successful background check and VA licensing standards required
• At least 23 years of age

What you will do:

• Drive bus on all scheduled routes to and from school as well as approved activities
• Always operate within the legal speed limits and in safe fashion without exception
• Communicate with teachers, parents and children to meet the needs of each transported child
• Work a split shift – leaving the middle of your day free!
