Job summary

Trillium Family Services seeks a dedicated Skills Trainer-In Home Services to support children and adolescents in daily activities, structure and safety, and community-based skill-building. You will collaborate with schools and families to align treatment goals with home and community settings.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in behavioral sciences or equivalent experience, a valid Oregon driver’s license, and strong coaching and communication abilities to help clients manage mental health

Qualifications

  • Rapport-building and interpersonal skills required for client-facing work.
  • Coaching and mentoring to support clients in learning skills.
  • Strong communication abilities for collaboration with schools, families, and teams.

Responsibilities

  • Builds rapport with clients (children and adolescents), providing daily support, structure, activities, group, and safety.
  • Provide skills training to clients to help them learn to manage their mental health symptoms in the school and will sometimes include homes and the community at large
  • Models, coaches, and counsel's clients regarding appropriate hygiene, and social and interpersonal interactions.
  • Acts as liaison between school systems and facilitate the integration of the client’s treatment goals within school/community setting
  • Have a valid Oregon driver's license that meets agency driving requirements and the ability to meet client and families in the community
  • Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral sciences field; or (b) A combination of at least three years relevant work, education, training or experience; and (c) Demonstrate the competency necessary to communicate effectively; understand mental health assessment, treatment and service terminology and apply these concepts; provide psychosocial skills development; implement interventions as assigned on an individual plan of care; and provide behavior management and case management duties.

Your Role:
