Job summary

DABS, Inc. is seeking a Skills Instructor to work with adults with developmental disabilities, helping them build skills for employment, volunteering, and community participation. You will support them in daily activities and pathways to greater independence.

Responsibilities include planning community activities, documenting progress, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive support. Driving required; CPR and TB tests are provided if needed.

Qualifications

• Caring heart and commitment to helping others live with dignity and independence.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• Valid driver’s license, personal vehicle, and insurance.
• Willingness to undergo a state and federal fingerprint background check.
• CPR Certification and a recent TB test (training available).
• Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered instruction through planned community activities.
• Support individuals in accessing community resources, planning activities, and strengthening their skill sets.
• Take individuals on community outings—whether for appointments, errands, or just to enjoy the day.
• Track and document progress, capturing accurate and concise case notes.
• Redirect inappropriate behaviors and facilitate positive resolutions to challenges.
• Work collaboratively with a team of professionals to ensure comprehensive support.
