Job summary

Advocates in Ashland, MA is seeking a Skills Instructor to work with adults who have developmental disabilities, autism, or brain injuries. This hands-on, entry-level position is part of a larger team at the Day Services location.

Starting at $18.50/hour with a Monday–Friday schedule, you will assist participants with daily living activities, provide skills training, and help promote community integration under supervision.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED and one year of experience in a training program for individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with individuals and families.
• Demonstrate ability to work as part of a team and perform duties with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals to identify and develop goals and plans addressing concerns and needs.
• Provide ongoing support through personal care, guidance and role modeling.
• Collaborate with Case Manager to provide developmental skills training (self-care, communication, daily living skills, hygiene, first aid).
• Collaborate to create and implement a therapeutic service plan (DHSP) for all assigned individuals.
• Complete documentation supporting DHSP plan.
