Job summary

DABS, Inc. invites applications for a Skills Instructor to empower independence and dignity in adults with disabilities. Provide person-centered instruction and guide participants through planned community activities, helping them access resources and engage in meaningful outings.

You will document progress and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive support. Full-time and part-time roles are available with room to grow.

Qualifications

• Compassionate and dedicated to helping others live with dignity.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
• Willingness to undergo state and federal fingerprint background check.
• CPR certification and a recent TB test (we can help obtain).
• Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered instruction through planned community activities.
• Support individuals in accessing community resources and planning activities.
• Take individuals on community outings and document progress.
• Track and document progress with concise case notes.
• Redirect challenging behaviors and support positive resolutions.
• Collaborate with a professional team to ensure comprehensive support.

What You'll Do

• Provide person-centered instruction through planned community activities
• Support individuals in accessing community resources, planning engaging activities, and strengthening their skill sets
• Take individuals on community outings—whether for appointments, errands, or just to enjoy the day
• Track and document progress, capturing accurate and concise case notes
• Redirect inappropriate behaviors and facilitate positive resolutions to challenges.
• Work collaboratively with a team of professionals to ensure comprehensive support

What You Bring

• A caring heart and a commitment to helping others live with dignity and independence
• Reliable transportation to and from work
• A valid driver’s license, personal vehicle, and insurance
• Willingness to undergo a state and federal fingerprint background check
• CPR Certification and a recent TB test (we can help you obtain both if needed)
• Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus—but if you bring passion and dedication, we’ll provide the training
