Job summary

DABS, Inc. is hiring a Skills Instructor to provide person-centered instruction through planned community activities and to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in leading more independent lives.

You will accompany individuals on community outings, track progress with concise notes, and collaborate with a professional team to ensure comprehensive support. A valid driver’s license and CPR certification are required; TB test and fingerprint background check will be

Qualifications

• A caring heart and commitment to helping others live with dignity and independence.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• A valid driver’s license, personal vehicle, and insurance.
• Willingness to undergo a state and federal fingerprint background check.
• CPR Certification and a recent TB test; training provided if needed.
• Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered instruction through planned community activities.
• Support individuals in accessing community resources, planning engaging activities, and strengthening their skill sets.
• Take individuals on community outings—appointments, errands, or leisure.
• Track and document progress, capturing accurate and concise case notes.
• Redirect inappropriate behaviors and facilitate positive resolutions to challenges.
• Work collaboratively with a team of professionals to ensure comprehensive support.

What You'll Do

• Provide person-centered instruction through planned community activities

What You Bring
