Job summary

Altec Indianapolis site seeks a capable welder to perform MIG welding, read blueprints and weld symbols, and prepare metal components for assembly. The role requires following safety policies and maintaining quality.

You will work 1st shift, Monday through Friday, with potential OT, move across areas as needed, and participate in 5S and APS initiatives while training others. A High School diploma and AWS D.1.1 certification are required, with vocational training preferred; strong measurement

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• AWS D.1.1 weld certification required.
• Vocational training is desired.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend.
• Basic computer usage knowledge required.
• Ability to read tape measures, blueprints, and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols to determine sequence and methods of assembling components.
• Perform Mig welding using various arc and gas welding equipment.
• Inspect assembly/components for conformance of specifications.
• Lay out and mark dimensions and reference lines on material using shop math.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area in accordance with 5S and safety policies.
• Willing to move to other work areas to support production needs and train others.
