Job summary

The role requires reading blueprints, tape measures, and schematics, with AWS D1.1 certification pursued within three months of hire and a welding background or technical credential. The position emphasizes safety, quality, and continuous improvement within a team-oriented shop, with opportunities to train others and support production with cross-training and time-tracking

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, and comprehend.
• Welding experience or a welding tech degree/certificate is required or in-process.
• Obtain AWS D.1.1 weld certification within three months of hire.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and tape measures.
• High school diploma/GED or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, fit, and cut to meet blueprint standards.
• Perform GMAW and/or FCAW welding using a variety of arc/gas equipment.
• Trim, file, grind, sand, deburr, and buff surfaces with hand tools and portable power tools.
• Lay out and mark dimensions on material using shop math and layout techniques.
• Inspect assemblies and components for conformance to specifications.
• Read and interpret schematics and work orders.
• Follow safety, environmental, and quality policies and PPE usage.
• Maintain work area and tools; participate in continuous improvement.
