Job summary

EK Machine Co. in Madison, WI seeks a full-time Welder to advance their welding skills across a range of metals and alloys. You will read blueprints, follow weld symbols, and work with GMAW-P, GMAW-S, and GTAW to produce quality weldments.

You will use fixtures to inspect welds, assist with work instructions, and may travel between plants. Certification or ability to pass weld qualification tests is required.

Qualifications

• Ability to read American and European blueprints and weld symbols.
• Accurately weld using GMAW-P, GMAW-S, and GTAW per specs.
• Weld a variety of metals including carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
• Read calipers, height gauges, and tape measures for quality checks.
• Certification or ability to pass weld qualification tests is required.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand blueprints and weld symbols to meet client expectations.
• Weld components per process specifications using GMAW-P/S and GTAW.
• Weld on various metals: carbon steel, galvanized steel, stainless steel, aluminum.
• Use fixtures, gauges, and jigs to produce parts to spec.
• Perform first piece, in-process, and final inspections.
