Responsibilities

• Join steel components or metal plates using welding procedures, blueprints, or instructions.
• Operate welding processes: Gas-Metal Arc, Flux-Cored Arc, Gas-Tungsten Arc, Submerged Arc, Shielded Metal Arc.
• Preheats work pieces and prepares joints as needed.
• Clean and degrease weld joints; remove slag and spatter; inspect welds for quality.
• Climb ladders or work on scaffolds to access weld areas.
