Qualifications

• 3-5 years of journeyman level experience in welding.

Responsibilities

• Weld or tack weld pieces using spot welding gun, electric, or gas welding equipment.
• Unite pipes from torch to tanks of oxygen and fuel gas and operate valves to release mixture.
• Maintain flame temperature and adjust gas/air flow for proper welding results.
• Preheat work pieces for welding preparation and shaping, using a torch.
• Fill holes or correct defects in lead pieces and shape metal accordingly.
• Inspect pieces with straightedge or templates to ensure specifications.
• Assist with crane signaling and positioning of large pieces.
• Use flame-cutting or plasma-arc equipment to dismount assemblies or scrap metal.
• Position and protect work pieces with hoists, cranes, or hand tools.
