Job summary

Vactor Mfg. Inc. seeks a skilled welder to operate Mig and Tig equipment at our Streator, IL facility. You will handle gas and plasma torches, grinders, hoists, and overhead crane tasks while maintaining a clean, safe workspace.

The role requires ability to read blueprints, follow weld procedures, and work with minimal supervision. Overtime may be required to meet production needs in a smoke-free, drug-free plant.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass a weld test.
• Weld certification desired but not required.
• Able to operate all machines and tools in the department.
• Ability to climb ladders.
• Ability to work in prolonged postures (bending, stooping, kneeling, walking, standing, and squatting).
• Ability to read blueprints and hydraulic schematics is desired.
• Strong mechanical aptitude is preferred.
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
• Must have good knowledge of weld symbols, processes, and procedures.
• Must be able to use jigs and fixtures to produce weldments.

Responsibilities
