Job summary

Vactor Mfg. Inc. in Illinois seeks a welding operator to operate Mig and Tig welding machines and support a clean, safe workplace. The role requires flexibility for overtime and accountability for own work. You may lift up to 50 lbs and climb ladders as needed, with emphasis on accuracy and safety.

Candidates should have a high school diploma and be able to read weld symbols; certification is valued but not mandatory. Teamwork and reliability are essential for success in this hands-on position.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass a weld test.
• Weld certification desired but not required.
• Able to operate all machines and tools in the department.
• Ability to climb ladders.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in prolonged postures (bending, stooping, kneeling, walking, standing, and squatting).
• Ability to read blueprints is desired.
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
• Must have good knowledge of weld symbols, processes, and procedures.
• Must be able to use jigs and fixtures to produce weldments.
