Job summary

County of Los Angeles is seeking a Welder-Fitter to fabricate and repair piping systems across county facilities. The role requires four years of electric and gas welding experience, with at least one year at journey-level, and a valid California driver license.

Applicants must hold City of Los Angeles structural welding certification and ASME boiler/pressure vessel welding credentials. Willingness to travel across LA County and work on-call is required.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience in electric and gas welding, one year at journey-level performing welding related to pipe fitting.
• Valid California Class C Driver License or ability to use alternative transportation.
• Certifications by the City of Los Angeles to do structural welding; ASME boiler and pressure vessel welding.

Responsibilities

• Fabricates and welds piping systems for Department facilities.
• Inspects, repairs, and replaces piping systems and components (pumps, valves).
• Oversees rigging and movement of equipment and machinery (pumps, motors, generators).
• Keeps track of materials, tools, equipment, and supplies; updates work orders.
• Travels to Department worksites across Los Angeles County; works on call.
