Job summary

Harrington Hoists, Inc. in South Holland, IL is seeking a Welder/Fabricator to lay out, fabricate and MIG weld components for customer products. This non-exempt, direct labor position reports to the Production Supervisor/Plant Manager in the Welding department.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, be able to obtain welding certification within six months of hire, read blueprints, and have 1–3 years welding experience; strong emphasis on safety and teamwork is required.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or acceptable equivalent.
• Must be able to obtain welding certification within six months of hiring date.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Able to safely handle various forms of material handling equipment such as hoists, cranes, etc.
• 1–3 years welding experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interpret simple to difficult drawings, sketches and/or work from samples and instruction.
• Set‑up and perform mig welding on items for customer products.
• Safely operate various pieces of equipment such as the saw, cutting torch, presses (hydraulic drill and punch), brakes, etc. in order to produce various sub-assemblies.
• Responsible for producing acceptable work which meets or exceeds all Quality Control Standards.
• Requisition welding supplies in order to maintain an uninterrupted flow of welded product.
• Safely operate various forms of material handling equipment such as hoists, cranes, tow motors, etc.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area.
• Exhibit interpersonal skills sufficient to perform as an active team member.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required by company management.
