Job summary

Hawthorne House in Freeport, ME, is seeking a Franklin Unit Nurse Manager for skilled and long-term care resident oversight. This full-time role requires on-call rotation and a Monday–Friday schedule.

The Nurse Manager will lead the nursing team, set and elevate patient care standards, and ensure excellent clinical outcomes. Ideal candidates hold a Maine Nursing license with demonstrated leadership, strong communication, and proficiency in EMR/computer systems.

Qualifications

• Must possess Maine nursing license.
• Experience with leading nursing teams and managing care standards.
• Proven leadership aptitude for staff development and program oversight.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage a care environment focused on patients.
• Define and elevate standards for patient care.
• Lead and train nursing staff; provide team leadership.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality outcomes.

40 hours full time, Monday through Friday - OnCall Rotation required.

Skilled Nurse Manager

The nurse manager will be responsible for creating and managing an environment of care focused on the patients, defining and elevating standards for patient care, training new staff; and providing leadership for everyone on the nursing team.

Skills And Abilities

• Knowledge and use of Electronic Medical Records and/or solid computer skills
• Strong communication skills, both in writing and verbally
• Effective leadership skills and/or ability to invest in growing this skill
• Read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Education And Experience

Education: Must possess, as a minimum, a State of Maine Nursing license

Experience: Demonstrated knowledge and experience sufficient to perform all duties with excellence

Leadership: Strong leadership aptitude or experience
