Job summary

The Skilled Tradesman Generalist is responsible for performing general maintenance work within his/her assigned residence hall. These duties require basic knowledge of carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, painting, etc. Other duties as assigned.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others. This position is designated as weather/event essential.

Qualifications

• The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma.
• Valid Driver’s License is required.
• At least four years of general building maintenance experience including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and/or painting.
• Preferred: seven years of general building maintenance experience including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and/or painting.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance tasks across residence halls including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry and painting.
• Maintain attendance and professional relationships in the workplace.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds waist high, climb stairs daily, and operate basic hand tools

Salary Information: $43,923 (Commensurate with education and experience)
