The Skilled Tradesman, Electrician performs skilled electrical work in the installation, maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems in campus buildings and facilities. Work includes wiring, fixtures, equipment, circuits, and related components. The position reads and interprets technical documents, diagnoses electrical issues, and completes work in accordance with applicable electrical codes and safety practices. The position supports safe and reliable electrical service across college facilities.
Rate of Pay: $25.82 per hour *Higher compensation may be considered based on qualifications directly related to position.
The position requires the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy materials and objects weighing up to 100 pounds, or heavier weights with the use of proper equipment. The employee must be able to stand and walk for long periods; work in and around buildings, confined spaces, machinery, and elevated locations; climb and descend ladders; operate a motor vehicle; and use varied hand and power tools. Work may occur indoors and outdoors in hot, cold, or rainy conditions. The position requires vision to read printed materials and computer screens and hearing and speech to communicate in person and by telephone or radio.
