The University of Houston is seeking a skilled Facilities Operations lead to coordinate carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical and HVAC maintenance, and to assist with scheduled moves and event setup. Under the manager’s direction, you will assign work, inspect progress, train staff, review work orders, ensure safety and policy compliance, and maintain equipment inventories.

Description:
Under the general direction of a manager, coordinates and maylead staff in the installation, repair, maintenance of carpentry,painting, plumbing, mechanical and electrical devices, exteriorsmaintenance, and scheduled moves and event setup. Pursuant to theState of Texas Executive Order No. GA-48, this position researches,works on, or has access to critical infrastructure and requires theability to maintain the security or integrity of the Universityinfrastructure. This position requires personnel be routinelyreviewed to determine whether or not criminal history or continuousconnections for the government or political apparatus of a foreignadversary might prevent the employee from being able to maintainthe security or integrity of the infrastructure.
1. Coordinates work assignments with manager, assigns workduties of support personnel, and inspects work in progress andcompleted work.
2. Performs duties of a carpenter, painter, plumber, electrical,mechanical, HVAC and /or exterior maintenance technician, andassists other shops as needed, including scheduled moves and eventsetup.
3. May provide training and technical direction to othermaintenance staff and offer instruction in safety procedures andpolicy compliance.
4. Reviews work orders and coordinates work to be performed withcustomers on campus.
5. Responsible for staff timesheets; prepares recurringmanagement and work request reports.
6. Assures an adequate inventory of tools, equipment andsupplies to achieve unit objectives.
7. May be considered essential personnel and may be assigned toserve on special task force during periods of emergency.
8. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
High School Diploma or GED Required
MQ: Requires a basic knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuationand simple mathematical functions like percentages, ratios, etc. asmight normally be acquired through attainment of a high schooldiploma or GED. Education verification will be conducted uponacceptance of an employment offer.
Experience: Requires a minimum of five (5) years of directlyjob-related experience. Certification/Licensing: May requiretechnical certification or licensing directly related to the job,as specified on the job posting details. Will require a valid TexasDriver License.
