Job summary

Sightline Commercial Solutions seeks a Skilled TIG Welder for the 1st shift in Minneapolis, MN. You will perform GTAW welds on aluminum and steel and interpret shop drawings to meet deadlines.

Required: at least two years of aluminum GTAW experience, proper PPE, ability to read a tape measure, and to pass an AWS Welder Qualification test. We offer a Production Bonus, PTO, holidays, and 401(k) with company match.

Welders are responsible for performing strategic welds on aluminum and steel to create structurally sound products per AWS code. This is a first shift position (Monday-Friday, 5:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform near-perfect coined GTAW welds on aluminum and steel (thickness range is .080" to 1")
• Interpret shop drawings and follow weld symbols
• Produce structurally sound welds to meet deadlines
• Maintain knowledge of the GMAW process

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• At least two years of aluminum GTAW welding experience in a fast-paced environment
• Possession of proper work shoes/boots & auto-darkening welding helmet
• Ability to read a tape measure
• Ability to pass an all-position AWS Welder Qualification test (set-up and efficiency will be evaluated as well)
• Ability to operate hand tools to prep and dress welds as required
• Basic computer skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Five years of aluminum TIG welding experience
• Five years of steel GMAW experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Ability to stand/walk up to 10 hours a day, 5-6 days a week
• Ability to lift 50 pounds, unassisted
