Job summary

Cummins Inc. is seeking an experienced manufacturing technician to support skilled activities in a demanding environment. You will work with cross-functional teams to select resources, operate machinery, and safety protocols while adapting to changing manufacturing conditions.

You will lead others as a formal resource, perform preventive and corrective maintenance, and contribute to quality and efficiency improvements across processes.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with CNC programming and machining operations.
  • Proficient in multi-spindle machining processes and optimization.
  • Extensive knowledge of tooling, fixturing, and precision gauging.
  • Strong continuous improvement mindset with a focus on efficiency, quality, and waste reduction.
  • Solid understanding of SPC and manufacturing variation analysis.
  • Experienced in inventory management for tooling, fixtures, spare parts, and critical replacement components.
  • Skilled in workforce and labor allocation adjustments to support production demands and operationalefficiency
  • Ability to troubleshoot, optimize, and support automated manufacturing systems and equipment.
  • Focused on improving equipment reliability, productivity, and process performance.

Job Summary:

Comprehensive knowledge applied to performing skilled activities which support manufacturing business needs. Works with relevant functions to select and utilize appropriate resources, tools, machinery and specialty equipment. Thoroughly understands the protocols of working safely with electricity and other energy sources with industrial equipment. Acts as a formal resource leading and coordinating others. Quickly and effectively adapts to change in the manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Stop work and immediately report any major injury hazards. Report any work-related injury, illness, incident or hazard. Comply with HSE standards, policies, procedures and regulations. Use appropriate personal protective equipment. Promote interdependence by looking out for one another. Correct hazards within your control and capabilities. Recognize how your work may impact the environment and work to minimize the negative impact. Engage in HSE Training. Quality Applies high standards of workmanship and craftsmanship. Support equipment failure analysis. Performs work in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals and specifications using various tools, measuring and testing instruments. Provide feedback into the Preventive Maintenance system. Ensures all process documents and quality procedures are updated and acts as a resource to provide help to others. Raises issues to minimize cost and quality exposures. Performs quality inspections. Delivery Fully proficient performing skilled activities expected by their roles in accordance with defined roles and responsibilities. Leads and coordinates others acting as a formal resource for team members with less capability. Performs and documents preventive, emergency, corrective and predictive maintenance activities. Maintains clean and orderly work area, including routine housekeeping and machine cleaning tasks. Performs other duties as required to meet business goals. Work with peers and support staff to: Identify and reduce manufacturing constraints Solve problems and improve processes Actively identify issues and implement solutions Teamwork Communicates effectively with the assigned team and with all support teams. Completes training and personal development in line with business requirements. Participates actively with local Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) teams in ways to improve quality, safety, process, material flow, and employee development.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
