Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to decontaminate, clean, sterilize, and organize surgical instruments in the hospital's Sterile Processing Department. You will perform rounds, validate PM status, and ensure equipment readiness for procedures.

The role requires at least two years of recent SPD experience, completion of an accredited program, and the ability to follow strict policies, document tests, and support internal customers.

Qualifications

• Two years of recent Sterile Processing Technician experience in an acute hospital OR
• Completion of an accredited Sterile Processing Program or Surgical Technician program
• Basic knowledge of instrument processing techniques and sterilization methods

Responsibilities

• Fill orders from requesting departments.
• Perform instrument rounds and decontaminate/sterilize equipment per manufacturers’ recommendations.
• Audit PM status for equipment issued and returned from SPD.
• Answer phones and support department operations.
• Restock supplies and manage specialty carts per policy.
• Prepare OR case carts according to preference cards for procedures.
• Operate Sterile Processing equipment and document sterilizer records.
