Peterson Tractor Co. is seeking a skilled Shop Welder to perform welding and line-boring for repair and fabrication in the weld shop and on customer sites. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and documentation of activities.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and at least 5 years of welding/fitting experience, with lift truck certification and a preferred Certified Welder certificate. Overtime and travel to sites may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 5+ years welding/fitting experience preferred.
• Lift truck operator certificate required; Certified Welder certificate preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and fabrication drawings.
• Safety-focused with knowledge of OSHA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe working environment and follow safety procedures.
• Communicate with customers and internal teams to ensure clear requirements.
• Operate welding and cutting equipment for shop and on-site work as needed.
• Fabricate custom components and perform repair welds.
• Modify equipment as directed and document service reports.
• Prepare work orders, parts lists, and timecards.
• Ensure timely, accurate task completion.
• Follow manufacturer and Peterson installation guidelines.
• Overtime as needed within labor laws.
• Maintain punctual attendance.
