Qualifications

• Supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
• Experience coordinating freight shipments and scheduling carriers.
• Proficiency with shipping software; Radius is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

Position Title: Shipping Supervisor Wage: $45,000-$55,000/year, Based on experience Shift: 1st Hours: 7:00am-3:30pm Monday-Friday Ready to take the next step in your warehouse or shipping career? We're looking for a hands-on Shipping Supervisor to lead a small, established team and oversee daily shipping and receiving operations. You'll oversee a first-shift team of up to six employees, coordinate freight carriers and deliveries, manage shipping schedules, and ensure customer orders are accurate and shipped on time. Shipping Supervisor Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Supervise and lead a team of up to six employees, including shipping clerks, receiving clerks, and department leads
• Oversee daily shipping and receiving activities to ensure customer orders are processed accurately and shipped on schedule
• Coordinate and schedule freight carriers and transportation contractors for outgoing shipments and deliveries
• Communicate with carrier representatives regarding pickup schedules, delivery instructions, and shipment requirements
• Manage warehouse transfers and monitor back ordered inventory, communicating shortages and delays to the appropriate departments
• Coordinate closely with Customer Service to ensure shipping priorities, order status, and customer needs are addressed
• Schedule daily workloads and staffing to maintain department productivity and service levels
• Train new employees on department procedures, equipment operation, and workplace safety requirements
• Conduct regular safety meetings, toolbox talks, employee evaluations, and coaching sessions
• Enforce company policies, work rules, and safety procedures throughout the department
• Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient shipping and receiving area
• Utilize shipping software, including Radius, along with Microsoft Excel and Word, to manage daily operations and documentation
• Identify opportunities to improve shipping processes, workflow, and overall department efficiency
• Provide hands-on support with shipping and receiving duties when needed to maintain daily operations

Shipping Supervisor Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Previous experience in shipping and receiving, warehouse operations, or a manufacturing environment
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred
• Experience coordinating freight shipments, scheduling carriers, and managing transportation logistics
• Working knowledge of shipping software and warehouse management systems; Radius experience is a plus
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
• Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
• Ability to read a tape measure/ruler and perform basic mathematical calculations
• Experience operating forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment
• Current forklift and reach truck certifications required
• First Aid and CPR certification required
• Ability to communicate effectively with employees, management, customers, and outside transportation providers
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, up to eight hours per shift
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
• Must be able to push, pull, bend, kneel, reach, and perform general warehouse activities
• Work environment may include exposure to machinery vibration and noise. Appropriate hearing protection is required in designated areas
