Job summary

General Mills in Cedar Rapids is seeking general production workers to operate and support packaging and processing lines. The role includes rotating shifts (1st, 2nd, 3rd) with pay differentials and overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to understand and communicate in English in a workplace.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, push, pull, and twist for extended periods.
• Willingness to work in hot, cold, noisy, wet, or dusty conditions.
• Ability to climb and/or work at heights using stairs, ladders, or platforms.

Responsibilities

• Support packaging and processing operations.
• Participate in equipment startup, changeovers, and shutdowns.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate with Maintenance.
• Calibrate systems to meet required specifications.
• Perform quality and safety checks.
• Clean and sanitize production equipment and work areas.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist in training new employees.
• Assist other plant areas as assigned.
