Job summary

IronLeaf Designs in Charlotte, NC, is seeking an experienced Press Brake Operator to set up and run press brake equipment, forming metal components per drawings and production specs.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of hands-on press brake experience, strong knowledge of sheet metal forming, and the ability to read blueprints and inspect parts for dimensions and tolerances. You will troubleshoot issues, work independently, and contribute to a collaborative shop environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of press brake operating experience.
• Demonstrated experience setting up and operating press brake equipment.
• Strong understanding of sheet metal forming and fabrication processes.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, dimensions, and tolerances.
• Ability to accurately use common measuring and inspection tools.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
• Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team environment.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to manage multiple production priorities.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate press brake equipment to bend and form metal components according to specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, work orders, and production documentation.
• Select and install appropriate tooling for each job.
• Determine proper bend sequences, tooling, and machine settings.
• Measure and inspect completed parts to verify dimensions, angles, tolerances, and overall quality.
• Use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, squares, and tape measures accurately.
• Make machine and tooling adjustments as necessary to maintain quality and consistency.
• Identify and troubleshoot forming, tooling, and dimensional issues.
• Handle materials and finished components safely and efficiently.
• Perform routine equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow company safety procedures and quality standards.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and other members of the production team.
• Assist with other fabrication and shop responsibilities as production needs require
