Job summary

Doña Ana County is seeking a skilled plumbing professional to perform maintenance, repairs, and construction of plumbing systems across county facilities. You will handle interior and exterior plumbing issues, preventive maintenance, and the installation and repair of boilers, sump pumps, and backflow devices.

Applicants should have a high school diploma, four years of relevant experience, and a valid New Mexico Journeyman Plumber's License.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Four (4) years of full-time experience as a plumber’s helper, gas fitter, steam fitter, or utility worker is required.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and complete work orders of interior plumbing malfunctions and complete repairs as indicated or according to work orders.
  • Receive and complete work orders of exterior plumbing malfunctions and complete repairs as indicated or according to work orders.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment.
  • Install, repair, or replace domestic appliances.
  • Install, repair, or replace commercial boilers, sump pumps, and roof drains.
  • Install, test, and repair all sizes of backflow prevention devices.
  • Trouble shoot and repair natural gas supply systems.
