Job summary

City of New York seeks a Plasterer to prepare and apply plastering materials on interior and exterior surfaces under supervision. Responsibilities include supervising staff, maintaining records and working per project plans. The role involves setup of scaffolds and thorough adherence to specifications.

Minimum qualifications emphasize three years of plastering experience or 1.5 years plus approved apprenticeship training. Eligible applicants may apply through the 55-a Program where noted.

Qualifications

• Three years of full-time plastering experience.
• At least 1.5 years plastering experience plus apprenticeship or related training to total three years.
• Six months of credit for each year of apprenticeship or training.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and apply plastering materials to interior and exterior surfaces.
• Use a hawk and trowel to apply plastering materials to walls, ceilings, piers and columns.
• Plaster partition walls and repair damaged walls.
• Tape sheet rock and repair damaged sheet rock walls.
• Set up and work on scaffolds.
• Perform work in accordance with plans and specifications.
• Maintain records.
• Supervise assigned personnel.
