Job summary

Caldwell Memorial Hospital, part of UNC Health, seeks a Per Diem Physical Therapist Assistant to support a busy outpatient and inpatient team in Lenoir, NC. You will perform a wide variety of skilled PT treatments based on therapist evaluations and goals, and advance the treatment plan as patients progress.

Licensure in NC as a PTA and graduation from a two-year PTA program are required, with BLS. No prior experience is required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited two-year Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant by the state of North Carolina (NC).
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to interdisciplinary team meetings to plan for patient needs and discharge planning.
• Precepts PT technicians or assistants and evaluates learner competency.
• Documents patient treatment and progress for billing and statistics.
• Instructs PT/PTA students.
• Provides skilled PT treatments and teaches home exercise programs and ambulatory device use.
• Participates in quality improvement and departmental activities.

Education

Graduation from an accredited two-year Physical Therapist Assistant program.
