Coral Gables Hospital seeks a phlebotomist to perform venous and skin punctures for in-patients and out-patients, ensure proper specimen labeling, and deliver specimens to the laboratory promptly. Strong attention to patient safety, accuracy, and confidentiality is required.

The role requires good computer skills, excellent communication, and the ability to adapt to diverse patient populations while maintaining the highest standards of care.

Formación

• Must have ability to perform venous and skin punctures and finger sticks.
• Proficient in basic computer use and data entry.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; focus on customer service.

Responsabilidades

• Identify patients using two identifiers (not room number).
• Perform venipuncture using aseptic technique.
• Label specimens at the bedside with accurate patient information.
• Time and initial all collected specimens; ensure patient safety before, during, and after collection.
• Deliver specimens to the correct lab section within expected timeframes.
• Assist with courier duties for specimen transport as needed.
• Maintain neat and clean work area and properly operate copy/fax equipment.
