Job summary

VillageMD seeks a phlebotomy technician to perform blood collection using aseptic technique and to process specimens for the main lab. You will handle urine/stool samples, H. pylori breath tests, and blood culture collections, ensuring proper labeling and data entry in LIS.

The role requires high school diploma or GED, BLS, and 1 year of experience (2-4 years preferred). Strong customer service and teamwork are essential for this on-site position.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• HeartSaver or BLS for Healthcare Providers required.
• 1 year of experience preferred; 2-4 years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Draws blood cultures using aseptic technique.
• Processes specimens for main lab transport and prepares 24-hour collections.
• Collects and documents samples for urine/stool tests and H. pylori breath test.
• Maintains accurate labeling, paperwork, and LIS data entry.
• Trains new staff on lab policies and procedures.
• Ensures proper inventory and follows replenishment protocols.
