Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Painters' Apprenticeship Program completed or equivalent.
• Ability to read blueprints and estimate materials/costs.
• Valid Florida driver’s license; pre-employment drug/alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Work alone or in a crew; receive daily painting/ glazing assignments.
• Review work orders to determine materials and procedures.
• Prepare job site with protective coverings; set up scaffolding and ladders.
• Prepare surfaces: wash, scrape, sand, caulk, patch; clean tools.
• Apply primer and paint with brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
• Maintain and clean tools; restore work areas after projects.
• Oversee apprentices and laborers as assigned; train as needed.
• Operate School Board vehicle safely and manage supplies.
• Record items/materials; meet safety procedures; perform other duties.
