Job summary

City and County of San Francisco is seeking a skilled painter for the Safety Marking and Hazard Identification Project in Moccasin. This exempt position is discretionary and limited to 36 months, with duties spanning exterior and interior painting of buildings, fixtures, and related structures.

You will prepare surfaces, mix paints, operate painting equipment, and help manage materials and documentation for the project. A journey-level apprenticeship and a valid CA driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• Completion of a recognized painters' apprenticeship program.
• Two years of verifiable journey-level painting experience on buildings, structures, roads or airfields.
• Possession and maintenance of a valid California Class C driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Paints exterior or interior of buildings, partitions, doors, and woodwork with decorative or protective finishes.
• Prepares surfaces, erects scaffolding, removes old finishes and patches surfaces.
• Mixes paints and matches colors; operates spray guns and cleaning equipment; handles hazardous materials.
• Transports materials and equipment to the work site; may plan work programs and order supplies.
• Produces estimates and work orders and documents related to the job.
