Job summary

Spokane of Cascadia LLC seeks a qualified Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat residents in a sub-acute/long-term care setting.

Under physician direction, you will develop care plans, administer tests, and guide patients and families in practicing new skills, while maintaining HIPAA and accurate records. A state license and CPR certification are required, with 6 months LTC experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology is required.
• Current license in Speech Language Therapy as required by state law.
• Valid CPR certification required.
• Six months experience in a long-term care environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Screens and evaluates patients/residents and develops appropriate care plan.
• Under a physician's direction, provides direct patient/resident treatment based on established plan of care.
• Plans, directs, or conducts rehabilitative treatment programs to restore communicative efficiency of individuals with communication and/or swallowing or cognitive problems.
• Administers, scores, and interprets specialized hearing and speech tests.
• Instructs residents/patients, families, and caregivers to monitor speech and provide ways to practice new skills.
• Completes required forms and clinical records in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.
• Documents in patient records in an accurate and timely manner.
• Devises special tools and treatments for the specific needs of patients.
• Provides comprehensive and compassionate therapy services in a sub-acute/skilled nursing facility setting.
• Works collaboratively with other rehab therapists and nursing staff in a supportive team-working environment.
• Maintains resident/patient privacy pursuant to HIPAA.
• Ensures punctuality and regular attendance for assigned shifts.
