Job summary

Avamere Rehab of Junction City is seeking a PRN Cook to prepare meals for residents under the supervision of the Culinary Services Manager. You will assist with inventory and ensure meals meet therapeutic diet requirements and safety standards.

You will follow recipes, manage food and supplies, supervise dietary aides as needed, and help maintain sanitation, storage, and accurate temperature records in accordance with state and federal regulations.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current Food Handlers card from local Health Department.
• Active CPR/BLS certification required and maintained during employment.
• About one year of quantity food preparation experience to meet high standards.
• Previous experience in institutional food preparation preferred.
• Knowledge of dietary practices and nursing home regulations.

Responsibilities

• Review menus and follow recipes during food preparation.
• Manage purchased food and supplies to control waste.
• Prepare and serve attractively; ensure correct temperatures and records.
• Inspect special diet trays for correctness.
• Maintain storage, inventory, and stock control with vendors.
• Supervise dietary staff to maintain sanitation and safety standards.
